become an activist

Dear Amazing Christian Girls,

Greetings in the name of love, hope, and compassion! Today, we come together as sisters in Christ, united by our faith and a shared desire to make a positive impact on the world. With a passion for justice and compassion, there lies within us an incredible power to be change-makers, to be activists!  He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.  Micah 6:8. 

As followers of Christ, we are called to love our neighbors as ourselves, to be the hands and feet of Jesus, spreading His light to those in need. Activism, at its core, embodies this calling by actively seeking to bring about positive change, healing, and restoration to our hurting world.  Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow. Isaiah 1:17.

The Bible is filled with inspiration for activism. Study the life of Jesus and His teachings. Find encouragement in verses which reminds us of what the Lord requires of us - to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with Him. The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.  Matthew 25:40. 

Change often starts in our own communities. Look for ways to volunteer, advocate, or raise awareness about the issues that matter to you right where you live. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.  Matthew 25:35-36. 

Compassion is at the core of activism. Approach all your efforts with a heart of empathy, kindness, and understanding.

Remember, being an activist is not just about doing something; it's about being the hands of Christ in a broken world. God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. Hebrews 6:10.
